Sometimes I think the paper where I test my paints turns into a little art piece.

IF: Burning

Burning love between the owl and the pussycat in their pea green boat! I realized partway through that I made this piece way too small to keep it loose and still get the detail I wanted..the whole piece is only 5" wide! Perhaps I'll re-do it bigger, I really like the colors in it, I took inspiration from an art nouveau painting I liked.

From Smitten Kitchen! I think next time I'd halve the corn kernels. Lucky me, I had some corn meal hand delivered to me from North Carolina. Usually I love these warm with marmalade, but I had apricot preserves on hand and they proved to be quite yummy.
