winter prep

Fall, my favorite season, is coming to an end. You can tell winter is approaching because things get quieter and quieter. I ran in the park in the morning, and I could feel the stillness starting to wrap around Brooklyn. I think this will be good for productivity, though. I spent a lot of energy this year running around and fussing about things that don't matter. Now it's time to get lost in some art. Here are some winter drawings to get you ready for the chill!

Brooklyn Flea!

This new-ish flea market in Fort Green, my old stomping ground, is a neat place to go on a lazy Sunday afternoon! There is lots of neat stuff to draw inspiration from, and I always love shooting at fleas because still lives are everywhere.  (for more flea market pics: http://stephaniecleaver.com/photography.html) I do find this flea just as overpriced as the one in Chelsea, though.  In the midwest there are massive barns and warehouses full of great stuff, and the prices are always amazing; I once paid a few dollars each for old glass negatives.  I think city fleas are more for browsing than buying, but nothing beats a good browse!
